Surf Lessons in June of 2024

 

Surf lessons are $95 per person for a 75 minute session. Our surf lessons are conducted on the north side of the Indian River Inlet Bridge, a few miles away from our shop!


At Dewey Beach Surf Shop, we offer surf lessons on the best beginner waves in Delaware! We specialize in teaching all riding levels- from first timers to more advanced surfers. Our experienced instructor surfs in the area and can offer unparalleled local surf knowledge. Students will learn basic surfing fundamentals, as well as ocean awareness, water safety, wave riding skills, and surf etiquette during their surf lesson.

We typically conduct surf lessons once daily. Surf lesson times vary by day and are determined by the waves and the weather conditions. All surf lessons are conducted on 9ft soft top surf boards only, provided by Dewey Beach Surf Shop. Each summer, we find that there are a high volume of surfers looking for the opportunity to take surf lessons with us. Because of this, we do not offer private surf lessons. All lessons are capped at 6 people.

How do I schedule?

Please be aware that all lessons are scheduled around the waves and weather conditions. Because of this, we do not schedule lessons more than (approximately) one week in advance. The best way to get on our schedule is to reach out during the week of your availability!

Text our shop phone at (302)-227-8288 to schedule surf lessons. We do all of our scheduling for surf lessons via text in attempt to keep an organized calendar!

  • If you are looking to gift surf lessons to someone, the best way to do this is by purchasing a gift card. Gift cards can be purchased under the Shop tab
  • Cancellations may receive a refund minus our processing fee of 5%
  • No-call-no-shows will not receive a refund
  • We do not conduct lessons on holidays or holiday weekends due to beach crowding. We can typically only offer lessons from after Memorial Day Weekend until just before Labor Day Weekend

* Parking at the state park beach costs $5 for in state and $10 for out of state tags. The area offers many amenities that you can enjoy before or after your lesson, including bathrooms and restaurants!
