What are your summer store hours?
We’re open daily from Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend, 10am–9pm. Our online shop is open 24/7 year-round.
Where is Dewey Beach Surf Shop located?
2103 Coastal Hwy Unit B, Dewey Beach, Delaware.
Can I rent surfboards at your shop?

How do I book a beach bonfire?
Bonfires are booked on deweybeachbonfires.com.
Can I book a surf lesson through the shop?
Yes. Visit the Surf Lessons tab for more information.
How long does it take for my order to ship?
Orders typically ship in 3 - 5 business days. USPS shipping typically takes 5 - 7 business days.
Do you ship internationally?
At this time, we only ship within the U.S.
Can I return or exchange an item?
We offer store credit on returns or exchanges within 14 days of the date of purchase. Items must be unworn, unused, and tagged. Receipt must be present. Sale items, jewelry, shoes, bikinis and boards are FINAL SALE. We do not process returns or exchanges for online sales.
Do you sell gift cards?
Yes! They never expire and are redeemable in store or online, but not for our bonfire services. Purchase online to receive a gift card delivered via email. Purchase a gift card at Dewey Beach Surf Shop to receive a standard plastic gift card.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay, and (of course) cash.
Are pets allowed in your store?
Yes, friendly pets on a leash are welcome! We love to offer treats, too.
Do you carry kids’ sizes or youth surf gear?
We have a very limited selection of youth gear available in store.
Is parking available near the store?
Yes, plenty of street parking is nearby! We offer limited 15 minute parking right outside the store for your convenience. Please do not park on the sides of the building in the residential parking spots!
Do you offer local pickup for online orders?
At this time we only ship online orders.
How do I know what size surfboard I need?
Beginners typically need an 8–9 ft board.
What’s the difference between a longboard and a shortboard?
Longboards are more stable and easier to ride; shortboards are better for quick turns and advanced surfers.
Can beginners surf in Dewey Beach?
Absolutely. Conditions are great for learning- especially in summer!
What’s the best time of year to surf in Delaware?
Spring and fall bring the best waves, but summer is great for beginners.
Do I need a wetsuit to surf in the summer?
Wetsuits are a personal preference. In early summer or late fall, a shorty or 3/2 wetsuit is helpful.
How do I wax a surfboard properly?
Use water-temp-appropriate wax in small circular motions.
What’s the best surfboard for kids or first-time surfers?
Soft top longboards are safest and easiest to learn on.
Can I learn to surf without taking a lesson?
Yes, but lessons help you progress faster and safer!
What’s the difference between soft-top and fiberglass surfboards?
Soft-tops are beginner-friendly and safe! Fiberglass boards are lighter and faster, ideal for experienced surfers.
